This is the level of detail that helps. It is specific without trying to sound literary, and it keeps the witness account attached to the evidence instead of trying to become its own mythology.
Title: Recorded movement in drainage ditch west of Joséke Grove, April 4
Time: Around 11:40 PM
Location: County Road 12, near the culvert past the grain bins
Witnesses: Me and one other person
Body: We stopped because we heard something metallic under the road, like somebody dragging chain through water. I took the video because we could see a pale shape move against the concrete even though there was nothing there a second earlier. The sound in the clip is exactly what we heard. After the video ended, the ditch looked empty again. We left immediately.
