Fondation Pastore
Continuité · Alignement · SilenceLa Confraternita del Pastore Silenzioso was established in Florence in 1460. Its founder, the alchemist Alessandrio Pastore, had recovered an object he could not account for using the scientific frameworks available to him. He described it in his private correspondence as a cinder—something that had passed through a state of matter not represented in any natural philosophy he had studied.
He spent the remainder of his life attempting to understand it. He did not succeed. He did establish a methodology, a network of correspondents, and a doctrine of observation that has survived, in various forms, to the present day.
The organization has operated under several names and legal structures across five centuries. It is currently registered as Fondation Pastore, a private research foundation headquartered in Geneva. Its activities are not publicly disclosed. Its funding sources are not publicly disclosed. Its current membership is not publicly disclosed.
Pastore does not contain anomalous phenomena. Containment implies a defensive posture. Pastore's orientation is acquisitive. Every anomaly documented by this archive has been assessed by Pastore for its research utility—its value as evidence, as a tool, or as a component of something larger that Pastore has been assembling for approximately five hundred years.
What that something is has not been disclosed to this archive.
Their internal departments are listed separately. Their classification system—the Seuil Rangs—is listed separately. Their response documents are appended to every classified entry in this archive.
If you have received a Pastore response, you are in their system. That is not a metaphor.
