Review Pipeline

The Review Pipeline

What happens after you post.

The archive only shows the finished record. What matters first is how the submission moves through community attention, direct review, and final classification.

Stage 1

Emerging Signal

You post your submission to r/TheSaltbox using the field submission format. The community sees it. Upvotes, comments, engagement—this is what moves a submission to Stage 2. There's no hard upvote threshold. We're looking for genuine engagement, not just numbers.

The founding team can also flag a submission directly if something catches our eye before the community does.

Stage 2

In Corridor

The mod team and founding team review the submission directly. We check:

  • Is the video authentic? (Not AI, not someone else's footage)
  • Is the writing specific enough to be credible?
  • Does the format hold up?
  • Which department should handle this?

If the entry needs work we'll reach out privately with specific feedback. You can revise and resubmit. Each revision gets a code (R1, R2, up to R5). At R5 the entry closes.

Stage 3

Decision

The founding team makes the final call.

Pastore Classified—the entry goes live on thesaltbox.org. It receives a permanent designation number (74088-XXX) assigned by the team—you don't choose it. A Pastore response document is written and appended. The entry is canon.

Unresolved—we couldn't make a determination. Not a rejection. Could become Classified later with more information.

Unresolved—Closed—the R5 revision ceiling was hit. The entry is closed permanently and the designation code is retired.
